Legal structure

Litrix.de is a project initiated by the Federal Cultural Foundation and, since its founding in 2003, is under the legal ownership of the Goethe-Institut e. V.. Since January 2009, Litrix.de is an integral part of Department 33’s "Literature and Translation Program" at the Goethe-Institut e.V. Munich headquarters. The Goethe-Institut e. V. is a global organization promoting German language abroad, the maintenance of international cultural cooperation, and the promotion of a comprehensive image of Germany by providing information about its cultural, social and political life. It operates under its bylaws and on the basic agreement of the Federal Republic of Germany contractual agreement. The individual institutes in Germany and abroad are legally dependent branches of the Goethe-Institut e. V.
